 Graduate Student Orientation and Social Series

Students get acquainted with the University, Chicago, and their peers at our annual Orientation program and the Social Series.

Academic Exchange

The Exchange Scholar and CIC Traveling Scholar Programs allow University of Chicago doctoral students to take classes or do research at 22 other institutions.

Graduate Resource Center

OGA maintains materials on University resources and policies, as well as books, articles, and DVDs on topics such as fellowships, the graduate school experience, family, and employment.

Graduate & Professional Student Workshop Series

This series of graduate student workshops focuses on topics related to academic, professional, financial, and personal issues.

Special Projects

OGA collaborates with offices and academic units throughout the University to develop and expand resources for graduate students.

Fellowship Management

OGA administers internal funds that support research, conference presentation, and summer funding.

OGA also manages external fellowships such as the Fulbright-Hays DDRA, Fulbright IIE, Foreign Language Area Studies, Jacob K. Javits, and National Science Foundation.

One-On-One Advising

OGA assists in answering questions of all kinds -- from applying for fellowships to identifying University policies and resources.

Fellowship Databases

Students can search fellowship databases and learn about internal and external funding opportunities.

Family Resource Center

The FRC is a family-friendly space that provides programming and support services for student families.
