Graduate Student Orientation and Social Series

Academic Exchange
Domestic Exchange Programs allow University of Chicago doctoral students to take classes or do research at 22 other institutions.
GradSpace Discussions
This series of graduate student workshops focuses on topics related to academic, professional, financial, and personal issues.
Fellowship Management
GSA administers internal funds that support research, conference presentation, and summer funding.
GSA also manages external fellowships such as the Fulbright-Hays DDRA, Fulbright IIE, Foreign Language Area Studies, and National Science Foundation.
One-On-One Advising
GSA assists in answering questions of all kinds -- from applying for fellowships to identifying University policies and resources to getting help with editing your writing.

Students can search fellowship databases and learn about internal and external funding opportunities.
Family Resource Center
The FRC is a family-friendly space that provides programming and support services for student families.
Dissertation Write-Ins
GSA sponsors quarterly Write-Ins, which are opportunities for you to jump-start your writing. Keep an eye out for open registrations - they tend to fill up fast!
