The Faculty Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching
WHAT: The University will again recognize and honor up to four regular full-time faculty members in the Divisions and the Divinity School for sustained exemplary teaching.
HOW: Graduate students (past and present) play an essential role by providing letters about the specific contributions, programs, and/or approaches a faculty member has used. This can include: how a faculty member advised and mentored students, helped to expand opportunities, developed and/or ran workshops, contributed to the quality of the student experience, worked on departmental placement, or helped students in their professional development, etc. Students should work together on behalf of a nominee and should work with departments in nominating faculty. Each nomination should have a letter from the Chair of the nominee's department, fully addressing the aforementioned points. The Chair should include the nominee's c.v.
WHEN: Student and Chair letters should be addressed to "Selection Committee: Faculty Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching." All materials should be sent to the Office of Graduate Affairs (Admin 225) by April 7, 2008.
