2011 Graduate Student Orientation

Based on feedback from student evaluations, this year’s Graduate Student Orientation was a resounding success. The new changes to this year’s program included a bagpipe-led procession from the Main Quad to Rockefeller Chapel, the inclusion of organizations external to the University at the Information Fair, and a comprehensive resource book titled the “GradBook,” which detailed Campus and Student Life offices as well as popular locations in Hyde Park. Of those who responded to this year's evaluations, 90% indicated that Orientation met or exceeded their expectations, 80% stayed for the entirety of Orientation, and the Information Fair was voted the most valuable portion of the event. Respondents also included qualitative data that reflected the palpable energy that was evident during Orientation.
