Graduate Student Orientation
Save the date! Graduate Student Orientation 2009 will take place on Tuesday, September 22, and is sponsored by the Office of Graduate Affairs (OGA). Join other graduate and professional school students in Ida Noyes Hall, and get a head start on the academic year by becoming familiar with campus resources and contacts, taking care of administrative details, and getting to know the Hyde Park community.
While details related to the day's schedule are still being decided, Orientation 2009 will cover important information from several offices that provide services to graduate and professional school students, including:
- Campus and Student Life
- Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities (ORCSA)
- Rockefeller Chapel
- Office of Graduate Affairs and the Family Resource Center
- Transportation and Parking Services
- University of Chicago Police Department
- Networking Services and Information Technology
- Career Advising and Planning Services
- Student Care Center
- Student Counseling and Resource Service
- and many more...
In addition to helpful presentations from student services offices, there will be an Information Fair and Graduate Student Social at the end of the day, where you can speak to representatives of several offices on campus, and pick up materials related to the services they offer. Stick around for the Social, hosted by Graduate Council of Student Government, and meet more of your fellow graduate students at the first kick-off event of the academic year! You must present proof of age (with a state ID or passport) to consume any alcoholic beverages.
Individuals with disabilities or special needs should contact OGA at (773) 702-7813 to request accommodation.
We look forward to seeing you there!
