Family Resource Center
The University of Chicago Family Resource Center (FRC) welcomes graduate and professional student families affiliated with the University of Chicago. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where families from the university community can access resources, information, and supportive programming and services. The FRC is administered by the Office of Graduate Affairs. It includes a private space for nursing and changing a baby, a playroom with new toys and books, and can be used for babysitting exchanges.
Registration
Access to the FRC is available at *no charge* for university affiliated families but you must submit the Registration Form (PDF) and the Parental Release and Consent Form (PDF) to the FRC Manager. These forms may be submitted via fax (773-702-1194) or you can visit the center in person to register and pick up a welcome packet. If you plan to have another caretaker bring your child to the FRC, please be sure to list the caretaker's name in Exhibit B, Designation of Childcare Providers, on the Parental Release and Consent Form.
Classes and Scheduled Activites
Each quarter the FRC hosts weekly classes and regularly scheduled groups, plans family activities, and coordinates a parental education series. The FRC Calendar provides a full list of FRC events and all the information you need to enroll, including links to online enrollment forms:

Location and Hours
The FRC is located on the second floor of University Church (5655 S University Ave.) at the corner of 57th and University. During the academic year the center is open weekdays (Monday-Friday) from 9:00am to 5:00pm with extended hours on Wednesdays until 7:30pm.
